Something that bothers me greatly…
I believe that God preserved His perfect, inerrant word in the Authorized Version(KJV). I have noticed that many people like to debunk this by saying that the AV is full of errors, thereby showing that all versions have errors since men are fallible and NO translation is perfect. Yet these same people will turn right around and tell you to continue to read the AV, even with all the supposed “errors.” Does that make sense to you?
Let me give you an example using the New World Translation, the Jehovah Witnesses bible. The majority of Christians will tell you that this bible is full of errors, due to the JW’s tampering with the text to fit their doctrine ( on a side note, it is amazing how much the NWT agrees with most modern versions, like where the NWT tries to remove or downplay Jesus’ deity, there is much agreement.) So we have a bible that partly contains the Word of God, but is so ridden with errors, we would never recommend it to anyone. Say you bring a JW to Christ, would you still have them read their NWT with all of its errors? Following that logic, if the AV is so full of errors, wouldn’t you just condemn it and tell them to read something else? What, are they too afraid to come out and say what they really think?
