What is going on in Christian bookstores?

My wife and I went to Mardel’s to grab a Strong’s Concordance they had on sale for a great low price. As with my previous trips to this store, you have to walk past the images of Jesus, the crosses, and all the fluff to get to the book section. I have to keep myself from screaming as you see all the left behind, Purpose Driven Life, and other filth.

What I really don’t understand, is what the women in this store are allowed to wear! Now I am not accusing every store in every chain of this type of dress code, but this seems to be a trend today. The same girl who has been there before is usually wearing something skin tight, or like tonight a skirt with a clingy top. Then the women in the education department was not much better, wearing a clingy top and shirt.

Now I know what you are thinking, and I am an observant person; not a pervert or a lustful man. I notice what people wear, especially in a Christian bookstore. The trend I am referring to is immodest clothing in Christian environments. My former pastor told me that men were complaining that going to church was a problem because they would be tempted to look at the women dressed immodestly. How sad! Going to church and seeing the dress of the world. I guess that is what happen when you compromise on Godly standards and rely on the things like rock music, easy-believism, milk filled sermons, and watered-down modern versions. I saw the immodesty issue in my former church with the young girls and it bothered me greatly. I felt like everywhere I turned there was some young female in immodest dress.

If you look like the world, act like the world, and dress like the world, are you not of the world?
