Quote of the Day

Read the President’s letter from Ligonier, then dwell on my Ligonier finances graphic. I am having formatting problems with trying to quote the text in question, so just read pages 4 and 5. Also, combine this letter with the excellent information provided by Hank Barnes, which I was going to make my Ligonier finances, part 2 post but my daughter was born and Hank did such a thorough job I figured there was no need to repeat it. Once I can copy the text properly I will add some more commentary.

So, the comment about their financial picture getting better is because Sproul had his church purchase land from Ligoneir. How convenient.

I read the presidents letter and it made me sick knowing what we know about Mr. Dick’s very high salary (230,000 in 2004), John Duncans high salary (178,000 in 2004). These men live in the top 10% in income in this country and then write about finanical problems at Ligoneir. Since when did ministry become a path to wealth?

Sprouls income was what in 2004? I forget.

He did not mention aquiring SDG or Firing Don Kistler, the founder of SDG, after he had a stroke leaving him with no health care!!! This makes me a bit less compassionate about Mr. Dicks health problems.

Nor did he mention the lay offs while he has his son, Ryan Dick, working there (while bragging on the internet about inheriting a multi mill company from his family) and his Lexus and the gated community they live in.

I have to wonder how these so called men of God can look in the mirror. Perhaps they really do not see their own deceit or corruption.

I guess they will try and find me to threaten sue me for these comments like they have others. Problem for them is that everything is true. And, they can get nothing from me anyway. I’m not getting rich in ‘ministry’.

I just saw this in the 2005 financial statements.

    General and Administrative Expenses
    2004-725,333
    2005-1,367,139

This comes out to an 88.5% increase. Does this mean anything? What goes under this expense category?

I truly believe the salaries of all the leadership should reside on the first page of every non-profit website. I would hope any reasonable person would take issue which what is going on at Ligonier.
