Vision Forum Ministries to lose their headquarters due to Eminent Domain?

July 2nd, 2008

I received an email this morning from Henry Johnson discussing Vision Forum’s battle with Eminent Domain. While I could not locate anything about this on either the Vision Forum, Inc. or Vision Forum Ministries sites, I was able to find a blog referencing a letter sent to I guess Vision Forum supporters and another website making a plea for help.

See excerpts of the letter sent out by Vision Forum
Public plea for help from FRN

It is public record (PDF download) that the land and building on 4719 Blanco Rd (home of both Vision Forum, Inc. and Vision Forum Ministries) were donated in early 2002 by the Vineyard Foundation.

All articles will located in the sidebar in the pages section under “Raising the Allosaur.”

Uncongratulations!

May 1st, 2007

“Maxwell Smart” made a comment a while back about Google cache not showing Natasha Epstein as a runner-up in the 2002 Elsie Dinsmore Essay Contest anymore, but it was there when Jennifer Epstein had mentioned it and she even included a link. Now, the current cached page has a date of April 18th 2007 and is still missing Natasha Epstein as a runner up. Well, I have a pdf copy of the original page that includes the following:

RUNNER UP
Natasha Epstein
Elsie’s life portrays all the mannerisms of a by gone era. In her time, girls were taught to be submissive and refined, not out spoken; fathers and mothers thought about the generations to come, and prepared for them; and in families such as Elsie’s, ladies and gentlemen were taught to be courteous and friendly, always serving others.

You can view the current page:

It does seem however that Vision Forum is misleading visitors by omitting one of the runner-ups. Does this mean that they are revoking her congratulations?

February 14th, 2007

The 2005 Form 990 for Ligonier Ministries has finally appeared online. I gathered this information from the Economic Research Institute’s website.

Now, for my calculations, I did not include contributions to employee benefit plans, to keep it inline with my previous calculations.

Threats and accusations Part 2

January 22nd, 2007

Last night around 10:18 p.m. CST I received the following threat from “Marco Hansen” via the contact form on my website supposedly somewhere in Malaysia:

Hey Brandon:

Are you really sure you want to take exception with Matt’s analysis of LG? I have it from the horses mouth that the reason why Harry took down LG was because he was afraid of losing his job. Notice that Matt’s article mentioned his place of business?

“Why I am not scared of the threats” written by Elizabeth Giromini

January 22nd, 2007

My husband has had a blog for a while now. He posts articles on research he has done into various topics concerning the Christian faith, Christian ministries, current trends within Christianity and the like. He often shares topics with me and keeps me apprised of what new things the purpose-drivens are doing.

Brandon has a strong desire for the truth. It is this quest to shed light on darkness that has driven him to blog about Doug Phillips and Ligonier. In doing so, he has been diligent to be factual, accurate and loving. Love is forgiving, but does not excuse or overlook sins. Read the rest of this entry »

Correcting Matt Chancey’s Wordpress “analysis”

January 18th, 2007

Simply-Christian note: I want to make it completely clear that I do not in any way support or endorse any of the racist or inflammatory content of Little Geneva. This post is specifically dealing with flawed information provided by Matt Chancey and his “team members.”

“Independent investigator” Matt Chancey needs to be corrected. In his “analysis” of the alleged hack of Little Geneva he asserts the following:

Now, it’s important to note that Little Geneva is powered by WordPress, a popular blogging software package. The content of Little Geneva consists of a long blog post, with comments at the end. On WordPress sites, these posts are not stored as HTML pages to be edited, but as entries in a separate MySQL database.
